A few months have passed since the first anniversary of popular music artist Olanrewaju Fasasi, also known as Sound Sultan, and two entertainment companies, Now Muzik and Naija Ninja, have announced that the late singer’s ninth studio album, “Reality Cheque,” will soon be released.
Before Sultan’s tragic passing, the project—which was reportedly a creative partnership with award-winning producer Idowu Ogunade, aka ID Cabasa—was reportedly almost finished.
A statement given to Saturday Beats states that the track and artist list will be announced in May, and the album, which will have six tracks, will be released under the Naija Ninja label in the early days of July.
As the late singer, known affectionately as the “8th Wonda,” passed away, Now Muzik declared that it had been given the “Right of Attorney” by the Fasasi family to oversee the artist’s estate. In addition, it is reported that preparatory work has started in Sound Sultan’s primary interest areas, which include live events, fashion, basketball, theater, television, and film. A Sound Sultan Prize for Social Impact is also in the works.
“The confidence reposed on us to handle the business and legacy of this exceptional entertainer and Nigerian is a compliment of the highest order and we are determined to deliver on their expectations,” stated Efe Omorogbe, the company’s founder and CEO.
“The Sultan’s legacy endures and we value the chance to advance the work he accomplished while he was here with us,” stated Sound Sultan’s older brother, Dare Fasasi, also known as Baba Dee.
