Peter Obi Blasts Government Over ₦7 Trillion Budget Scandal

Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially endorsed Dr. George Moghalu as the party’s candidate for the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election.

Obi made the announcement during the LP’s campaign flag-off in Onitsha, where he presented Moghalu as the party’s gubernatorial candidate.

Obi also reaffirmed his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, stating that he remains the most credible option among those who have shown interest so far.

Moghalu, a native of Nnewi in Anambra State, is a seasoned politician and administrator. He previously served as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority between 2019 and 2023.

A founding member of the All Progressives Congress, Moghalu also served as the party’s National Auditor and was a key figure in its early leadership.

The Obidient Movement, a grassroots network within the Labour Party, has also endorsed Moghalu as its candidate for the upcoming election.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, the movement described Moghalu as “a relentless warrior for the voiceless masses” and expressed confidence in his ability to transform governance in Anambra State.
