IHS Towers Launches Innovation Hub at LAUTECH to Benefit Over 3,000 Students in Oyo State

IHS Towers has established an innovation hub at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, aiming to impact over 3,000 people. According to the firm, the hub will initially benefit more than 3,000 individuals, with that number expected to increase each year.

The hub is equipped with state-of-the-art digital and technological tools designed to enhance learning and innovation in various fields, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, autotronics, robotics, digital marketing, and blockchain technology.

IHS Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohamad Darwish, emphasized the significance of the innovation hub, stating, “The importance of technology innovation hubs cannot be overstated. They are a quick way to create jobs and bridge the gap between the developed and developing world.” He encouraged the university community to fully utilize the hub’s resources to maximize its potential.

Darwish also acknowledged the Oyo State Government’s role in supporting the creation of the LAUTECH Innovation Hub, noting that the partnership will significantly contribute to both the state and Nigeria’s broader economic development. The company added that the hub aims to further develop ICT expertise by providing training, fostering innovation, and creating an enabling environment for students and the community.
