The Nigerian National League (NNL) will begin play as planned this weekend, breaking the odd jinx of taking a midseason vacation and then not starting up as planned.
To the annoyance of club owners, players, and fans for various reasons, the NNL has been known to take a midseason break throughout the past four seasons and either fail to return or controversially postpone the start of play.
The NNL, which is referred to as the “Most Important league” in Nigerian football, will try to gain the confidence of football stakeholders and supporters by putting on a flawless second Stanza despite the drama and controversy of the past few years.
