A powerful CAF delegation came in Uyo yesterday night to see the Nest of Champions, as well as the designated hotels and referral hospitals, in response to Nigeria’s ambition to host the coveted CAF Champions League final.

The one-day inspection is scheduled to begin in the Nest of Champions at 9 a.m. today, Sunday, April 2, 2022. This information was revealed to journalists in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, by Elder Paul Bassey, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom state.

Nicknamed the Nest of Champions, the official name is the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. Surprisingly, the NFF has neglected to use the prestigious arena for national team games in recent years.

The Nest of Champions is Nigeria’s finest, and the outcome of today’s inspection will decide if Africa’s soccer governing body will accept Nigeria’s request to host the 2021–2022 CAF Champions League Final.

Today, Sunday, April 3, 2022, will mark the end of the competition’s group stage, with the top two finishers in each group moving on to the next round. The current CAF Champions League champions are Al Ahly.
