The family of Adiat Abiola Babatanisewu is urgently appealing to the public for assistance in locating their 56-year-old mother, who has been missing for nearly three weeks. Adiat, a resident of Harmony Estate, Aboru, Lagos State, left her apartment on December 17, 2024, and has not returned since.
Her son, Abiodun Babatanisewu, spoke to PUNCH Metro on Sunday evening, expressing the family’s deep concern as they have been unable to locate her despite numerous efforts. Abiodun revealed that his mother had been struggling with health issues, including insomnia, and had been receiving medical care for her ailments until her disappearance.
Details of the Disappearance
On the day she went missing, Adiat received money from one of her uncles, which was delivered to her through her husband. Later that day, the youngest child of the family went out to buy groceries. When they returned, Adiat had already left the house. Abiodun explained, “Before leaving, she reportedly told my sister’s fiancé that she was stepping out briefly to get something nearby. Tragically, she never returned and has not been seen or heard from since.”
A police report dated December 18, 2024, corroborates the family’s account, and the matter was reported to the police.
