The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has issued a public notice calling on the owner of an abandoned Toyota Prado Land Cruiser, discovered on December 31, 2024, to come forward for identification and potential recovery of the vehicle.
Details of Discovery and Inspection
The vehicle was found at approximately 11:30 am by officers from the Durumi Division during a routine patrol along David Ejoor Street, opposite Adisa Estate in Apo-Gudu. Upon inspection, it was determined that the vehicle was without a registration number, chassis number, or engine number, raising suspicions about its origin and ownership.
Items Recovered from the Vehicle
Further investigation of the vehicle revealed several items inside, including a silver-colored eagle insignia, video/audio cables, and a car stereo remote. Additionally, it was discovered that the sticker displaying the engine and chassis numbers near the driver’s door had been removed, and the vehicle’s windscreen appeared to have been recently replaced.
Vehicle Towed for Further Investigation
The Toyota Prado Land Cruiser has been towed to the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki II for further examination and safekeeping. The police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, emphasized that anyone with a missing vehicle matching this description should come forward with proof of ownership.
This investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging the public to report any relevant information that could help trace the rightful owner of the vehicle.
