The Postmaster General of the Federation, Dr. Ismail Adewusi, has announced that the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) is making strides toward leveraging technology to broaden its e-commerce reach and enhance its last-mile delivery capabilities. He made this announcement during a special May Day address to NIPOST workers.
Dr. Adewusi highlighted that the agency is focusing on accelerating innovation and investing in cutting-edge tools to better serve the growing digital and mobile needs of its customers. In a statement, he said, “NIPOST will increase the pace of innovation, testing new delivery offerings and investing in advanced tools to meet the digital and mobile expectations of our customers.”
He further stated that NIPOST aims to create the most efficient and productive network to support its products and growth, with a vision of becoming the largest e-commerce hub in Nigeria, enhancing its last-mile delivery capacity.
Dr. Adewusi also emphasized that NIPOST will invest heavily in the training and development of its workforce, as well as in service innovations, system improvements, and the effective use of technology. Addressing the agency’s workers, he said, “As a postal service organization, we are well-positioned to become the best in Africa and one of the best in the world. This goal is achievable if we stay focused on our daily decisions that will lead us to success.”
