As the cost of cooking gas skyrockets, women consider their options.

The majority of businesses are now aligning their products to fit people’s new standard of living due to the ongoing increase in pricing for goods and services.

The double compartment pots, which are designed to cook two dishes simultaneously, are an example of this innovation.

According to Vanguard Economy & Lifestyle, the majority of women now purchase these double-compartment pots in an effort to use less cooking gas.

Tomato vendor Mrs. Yemisi Idowu stated: “I’ve been considering ways to conserve my cooking gas. The majority of these gas stations merely fill the cylinders with air. A 12-kilogram cylinder of cooking gas used to last me two and a half months and cost N11,000, but these days it barely lasts a month and a half. I bought three of these two compartment pots as soon as I saw them. I can now cook for more than three months at a time.

Civil servant Gbadebo Alaga stated: “My wife has been griping about the rising cost of cooking gas. Even the cost of firewood, charcoal, and kerosene is rising daily. Some have gone so far as to cook with sawdust.

I tried the twin compartment pots after hearing about them from a friend. My spouse has been testifying that it has decreased the amount of cooking gas she consumes on a monthly basis.

“My mom got me double compartment pots while I was resuming this semester because I often complained to her about how my cooking gas gets exhausted and how the price of cooking gas is skyrocketing in my school,” said Sarah Johnson, a 200-level student.

“To fill my 6 kg gas cylinder, I use N6,000. When I can’t afford to buy one kilogram, I occasionally have to borrow my neighbor’s stove.

“There are different double compartment pots in the market,” stated Mistura Hassan, an Idumota-based vendor of cooking supplies.

Some even have three sections where you can simultaneously boil meat, make sauce, and simmer soup.

“A lot of women are come for these pots with two compartments. Although there aren’t many pot sales since people are taking care of the ones they already have, it is having an impact on the sales of single compartment pots.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the cost of a 12-kg cooking gas cylinder increased by 32.5% from N7,413 in January of this year to N9,824 in July.

The cost of cooking gas cylinders has also gone up; a 12.5 kilogram cylinder now costs N23,000.
