After the excellent lineup of performers for the final day of the three-day summit was revealed, the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend 2022 was set up for an exciting finale.

With a strong reference to the diaspora, the all-star lineup was carefully selected by the All Africa Music Awards, Afrima, and Canex Wknd to highlight the diversity of talent from throughout the continent.

At what looks to be a historic moment for Africa’s creative industry, artists from around the continent will showcase their exceptional talent and enthusiasm at the closing event.

Alongside multiple award-winning Nigerian afro-pop artist Yemi Alade, Julian Marley, son of the great Bob Marley, will lead the line of performers to excite the attendees and the continent at large.

Additional names are Didi B (Côte d’Ivoire), Josey (Côte d’Ivoire), Nandy (Tanzania), Nadia Nakai (South Africa), Suspect 95 (Côte d’Ivoire), and DJ Mohgreen (Morocco/France).

The organizers have added Toofan, Blinky Bill, Ayodele, The Cavemen, Elaine, and Oswald Kouamé et N’Zassa Music to the list of performers.

The dates of CANEX WKND 2022 are scheduled for November 25–27, 2022, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

With a heavy emphasis on exchanging expertise and best practices from various sectors of Africa’s creative and cultural industries, the three-day event will bring together creatives, investors, industry leaders, creative industry enterprises, and government representatives.

CANEX WKND is a celebration of the creative talent that is sweeping the globe, as well as a business-to-business conference targeted at the burgeoning creative sector in Africa and the diaspora.

Prior to the next Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) Summit at IATF2023, there will be a CANEX WKND 2022.

The latter is a conference with eminent African and global speakers and a range of sessions addressing investment and commerce in Africa.

All participants are welcome to join CANEX WKND, which is free of charge. Starting on Thursday, November 24, a number of intense masterclasses will be held during the main event sessions.

Prof. Bruce Onobrakpeya of Nigeria, Didier Drogba, a retired professional football player from Côte d’Ivoire, Alex Okosi, Managing Director of EMEA Emerging Markets at YouTube, Elvis Adidiema, Director of Sony Music for French-speaking Africa (Congo), and Abdul-Karim Abdullah, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Culture Management Group (CMG) and Afrochella Festival (Ghana) are just a few of the experts that will be featured during these main plenary sessions.

Among the participants in the workshops will be Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, an author from Nigeria; Armando Cabral, the founder and creative director of Armando Cabral (Portugal); and Magali Ohouens, a modern art specialist and exhibition coordinator at Cécile Fakhoury Gallery (Côte d’Ivoire).

The organizers of CANEX WKND have made the procedure easier for people in Africa and beyond by offering free registration at www.canex.africa. This is in response to the increased interest in participating in the event.
