Nigerian music star Burna Boy has paid an emotional tribute to late South African rapper AKA, revealing that unresolved circumstances left him with lasting regret.

In a heartfelt birthday message, Burna Boy reflected on a fallout between them that stemmed from what he described as “bullsh*t.”

Although the misunderstanding was later resolved privately through Twitter direct messages, the two artistes never got the opportunity to meet in person or collaborate as planned.

According to Burna Boy, the missed chance to properly reconnect is something he will carry with him. He expressed deep sorrow over the fact that they never fully repaired their relationship before AKA’s untimely death, adding that the regret will remain until they meet again “on the other side.”

AKA, fondly known as “Supa Mega,” was fatally shot on February 10, 2023, outside a restaurant in Durban, South Africa. The killing sent shockwaves across the African music industry and sparked widespread calls for justice.

More than a year later, the case remains unresolved, with legal proceedings surrounding the rapper’s murder still ongoing.

The tribute has reignited conversations about lost time, forgiveness, and the fragile nature of life—especially within an industry where public feuds often mask private reconciliations.
