Rema, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr have been named among Dataleum’s Top 10 Nigerian Artists on YouTube for 2022, according to a report by the global data and intelligence company. The list was compiled by analyzing the most popular music videos based on views from YouTube, the largest video-sharing platform with over 2.5 billion users.
Dataleum, a winner of Lagos State’s Startup of the Year award, acknowledged the tremendous growth of Nigeria’s music industry in 2022. The top 10 artists collectively garnered 906 million views, with Rema leading with 300 million views. Asake, who had a breakout year with seven music videos, and Burna Boy, who earned 140 million views for his hit “Last Last,” also made the list. Kizz Daniel’s viral track “Buga” secured 107 million views, while 1da Banton, Ayra Starr, Tiwa Savage, and Simi also contributed with millions of views on their respective hits.
