Nigerian skitmaker and musician Slimcase has issued a public apology to the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) after featuring the agency’s official uniform and a waste collection truck in a skit without authorisation.
Slimcase, whose real name is Oluwafemi Oladipo, explained that the video was created with positive intentions. He said the skit was designed to highlight the dignity of labour and to remind viewers that all professions, including waste management, deserve respect and recognition.
The entertainer stressed that the idea behind the video was entirely his and was never meant to mislead the public or cast LAWMA, its workers, or the Lagos State Government in a negative light. He added that there was no intention to mock, misrepresent, or embarrass the agency in any way.
Slimcase confirmed that once concerns were brought to his attention, he promptly took down the video from all his social media platforms on December 8, 2025. He further assured the public that there are no edited or reuploaded versions of the skit currently in circulation.
In his statement, the singer also clarified that LAWMA did not approve, support, or participate in the production of the content. He expressed appreciation for the agency’s efforts in maintaining cleanliness across Lagos and pledged to be more mindful and cautious in future creative projects.
