TG Omori Raises Alarm Over Alleged Death Threats After Comment on Same-Sex Relationships

Nigerian music video director ThankGod Omori Jesam, popularly known as TG Omori, says he has been receiving death threats following his recent remarks on same-sex relationships and a subsequent media report he believes put him at greater risk.

The controversy began over the weekend after Omori shared a brief but controversial post on 𝕏, writing: “Having same gender sex is evil.”

The statement quickly went viral, drawing intense backlash and sparking wide debate across social platforms.

According to Omori, the situation escalated further when a digital magazine published an article suggesting he was using the online uproar to promote his luxury eyewear line. He said the publication not only misrepresented his intentions but also worsened the hostility directed at him.

Omori claimed that since the article was released, he has been inundated with threatening messages at all hours, leaving him fearful for his safety.

Condemning the publication in a post quoting the article, he wrote: “This is a media house trying to set me up and risk my life by gaslighting a global community they serve to blacklist me for speaking my truth in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Death threats and wishes have been sent to me day n night, threatening my safety n security as a citizen, since after this article was published by @Zikoko_Mag.”
