Dele Momodu Slams FCT Minister Wike Over Soldier Clash in Abuja

Veteran journalist and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dele Momodu, has criticized the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, following his heated confrontation with a military officer during an enforcement exercise in Abuja.

The incident, captured in a viral video, shows Wike in a tense exchange with a soldier while attempting to gain access to a disputed property in the nation’s capital. The property in question is reportedly linked to former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo (rtd).

According to online footage, Wike insisted that the developers of the property lacked valid ownership documents and building approvals. When a soldier resisted his directive, the minister appeared visibly agitated, sparking public debate over the conduct of both parties.

In a post shared on his Instagram pageon Wednesday, Momodu accused Wike of poor anger management and excessive alcohol consumption, linking these factors to what he described as the minister’s “Messianic complex” and reckless behavior in Abuja.

“He who the gods want to destroy, they first make mad… I had warned Minister Nyesom Wike endlessly about his lack of anger management, but he never worked on himself,” Momodu wrote.

“Too much alcohol is also not good for him physically, mentally, and spiritually. Wike has wreaked enough havoc in Abuja with his penchant for land-grabbing and primitive accumulation of wealth. He deserves the President’s pity, prayers, and urgent therapy in rehab… What a tragic hero.”

The video and Momodu’s comments have fueled discussions online about leadership, accountability, and conduct in public office, with many calling for better conflict resolution and professionalism from public officials.
