Blaqbonez Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Cyber Harassment and Leaked Video

Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, widely known as Blaqbonez, is facing serious legal allegations after a woman, referred to as “Jane Doe,” filed a petition accusing him of cyber harassment, blackmail, and invasion of privacy.

The petition, submitted by her legal representatives, Bristol & Mortglass C.S., claims that Blaqbonez engaged in a prolonged campaign of intimidation and emotional abuse following her rejection of his romantic advances in December 2024.

According to the statement, the harassment included blackmail, bullying, and invasion of privacy. The lawyer claimed that Blaqbonez unlawfully obtained and circulated private indecent videos of Jane Doe without her consent.

The statement further alleged that despite Jane Doe’s repeated attempts to ask the rapper to stop, he continued to intimidate and spread false information about her.

This, according to her lawyer, has caused significant mental and emotional trauma, leaving her fearful for her safety and affecting her ability to work freely in Lagos.

The legal team emphasized that all efforts to get Blaqbonez to desist from the alleged unlawful actions were unsuccessful.

They noted that despite several reasonable attempts respectfully asking him to desist, he persisted in his conduct, spreading false and damaging information about their client to tarnish her reputation.

The petitioners have urged the Nigeria Police Force to investigate the matter under relevant laws, including the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015, and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. As of now, Blaqbonez and his management team have not issued an official response to the allegations.
