Portable Rejects ₦1 Million from Crypto Investor Blord, Demands ₦1 Billion or a Car

Nigerian street-hop artist, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stirred controversy after publicly rejecting a ₦1 million cash gift from cryptocurrency entrepreneur and tech investor, Linus Williams, known as Blord.

In a now-viral video circulating on social media, the singer expressed dissatisfaction with the offer, arguing that the amount was insufficient given his influence and brand value.

Portable instead demanded either a car or a sum of ₦1 billion, stating that such a gesture would better reflect his worth and boost Blord’s own public profile.

“I’m bigger than ₦1 million. Give me a car and you’ll get more fame,” Portable said in the video. “If not a car, give me ₦1 billion.”

The statement came after Blord reportedly attempted to show appreciation to the singer for mentioning him in a recently released song that also referenced social commentator VeryDarkMan.

Although the cryptocurrency figure had offered ₦1 million in response, Portable dismissed the offer as inadequate.

Reactions

The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with users divided over Portable’s stance. Some social media commentators criticized the artist’s sense of entitlement, while others viewed his response as a reflection of how entertainers assess their value in today’s influencer-driven economy.
