The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates contesting in the upcoming Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The publication signals the readiness of the electoral body to conduct the polls as scheduled.

The list includes contestants for all area councils across Abuja, covering chairmanship and councilor positions. INEC stated that any objections or petitions about candidate eligibility should be submitted before the close of business on the date specified in the election timetable.

Election observers and political parties have been cautioned to ensure compliance with INEC guidelines, particularly concerning the submission of valid credentials, proof of age, and party affiliation.

INEC assured that the ballot papers and logistics have been prepared and that arrangements are in place to ensure transparency and security during the elections.
