Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has arrived at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a scheduled meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The visit comes shortly after the state of emergency in Rivers was lifted and Fubara was reinstated.
Fubara is visiting the Presidential Villa for the first time since he was reinstated as the governor of Rivers, after a six-month emergency rule imposed on the state by Tinubu.
According to reports, the Rivers State Governor arrived the villa alone at about 6:20 p.m. on Monday and made his way towards the office of the President.
Although the actual reason for Fubara’s visit to the presidential villa was not public as of the time of filing the report, it may not be unconnected to his reinstatement by Tinubu.
Fubara, his deputy and members of the State House of Assembly were suspended from office on March 18, 2025, by the President, following the political unrest in the state.

Tinubu announced the end of the emergency rule on September 17, 2025.
In a statewide broadcast, Fubara had expressed appreciation to the President for intervening in the crisis in Rivers State, saying he remained “eternally grateful”.
