Police Rescue Former Imo Lawmaker Ngozi Ogbu After Abduction in Onuimo

The Imo State Police Command has successfully rescued a former lawmaker who was abducted by suspected kidnappers, bringing relief to his family and associates.

According to reports, the ex-lawmaker was kidnapped by armed men, sparking tension in his community and prompting swift action by security operatives. Police operatives, acting on intelligence, tracked down the suspects and launched a rescue operation that led to the victim’s freedom.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state confirmed the incident, noting that the operation was carried out without paying ransom. He added that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and ensure they face justice.

The rescued politician has since been reunited with his family, while security has been beefed up in the area to forestall further incidents.

The police also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies as part of efforts to tackle rising cases of abduction in the state.
