Moses Simon

Nigerian international Moses Simon has officially brought his time at FC Nantes to a close after six memorable seasons, confirming his departure through an emotional message posted on his official X account on Tuesday evening. Accompanying the farewell was a 75-second video montage, showcasing highlights of his performances in the club’s yellow and green jersey.

“Six seasons giving my all with heart and passion. Sprints, crosses, unforgettable memories. Thank you, FC Nantes. Thank you, Beaujoire. I leave proud, carrying a part of this club with me always,” Simon wrote in French.

From Levante to Club Hero

Simon joined Nantes in 2019 on a loan deal from Spanish side Levante, and after an impressive debut campaign, he signed a permanent contract the following year. Over his six-year stay, he made a total of 201 appearances, scoring 37 goals and delivering 42 assists. His energetic style, flair, and commitment on the field quickly earned him the admiration of supporters and a vital role in the squad.

Silverware and Survival

The Nigerian winger played a significant part in Nantes’ recent history, helping them survive relegation battles and reach the Coupe de France final twice in consecutive years. His standout moment came in 2022 when he helped the club clinch the prestigious trophy after a victory over OGC Nice—securing their fourth-ever title in the competition.

During the 2024/25 season, Simon continued to impress. He contributed eight goals and 10 assists, ensuring Nantes finished 13th in Ligue 1, steering them six points clear of the relegation zone.

A New Challenge at Paris FC

Simon now embarks on a new adventure with Paris FC, a club newly promoted to Ligue 1 for the first time since 1979. According to reports from French media outlets, including L’Équipe and Foot Mercato, the Super Eagles star completed his medical earlier this week. The move, reportedly valued at €7 million, brings elite-level experience and attacking depth to the Paris-based team as they prepare for life in the top division.

Paris FC Gears Up for Ligue 1 Debut

With their long-awaited return to Ligue 1, Paris FC is building a squad equipped to compete at the highest level. The addition of Simon offers speed, technical ability, and veteran leadership. His familiarity with the league and proven track record are expected to be valuable assets for the team.

Meanwhile, the club has also shown interest in signing Chancel Mbemba, the Congolese defender whose contract with Olympique de Marseille is set to expire at the end of June. If successful, his addition would further strengthen the team’s defense.

A Proud Exit and Bright Future

For Moses Simon, leaving Nantes marks the end of an era filled with personal and professional growth. As he takes on this new challenge with Paris FC, he does so with a legacy of dedication and impact at his former club. His arrival signals Paris FC’s intent not just to survive in Ligue 1, but to compete with purpose and vision.

Simon now looks ahead to the next phase of his career, eager to help Paris FC write a new chapter in their history—one goal, one assist, and one victory at a time.
