The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has publicly criticized fellow Nollywood stars for their silence regarding the ongoing marital issues between actress Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
In a detailed statement shared on Instagram on Thursday, Rollas accused several industry colleagues of speaking ill of Daniels behind her back despite being aware of her health and personal struggles.
Rollas Remembers On-Set Observations
The AGN president recounted instances where senior actors, including Okey Bakassi, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, and others, witnessed Daniels’ behavior on set and recognized that she needed support. “Many senior colleagues saw things firsthand during recent shoots,” Rollas said, “yet chose silence. Your silence is unfair and leaves me exposed to attacks for issues I did not create.”
Concerns Raised at Public Events
Rollas also criticized Senator Nwoko for addressing Daniels’ personal health concerns publicly during their son’s birthday celebration, a move the AGN president deemed inappropriate. “Sir, it is not good for a man of your status to go on social media and publicly call out your wife in matters that can be handled internally,” Rollas said.
The South Africa Roundtable Incident
He further revealed that Nwoko placed conditions on Daniels’ participation in a planned AGN roundtable in South Africa, insisting she avoid traveling through Lagos.
Rollas explained that he relayed this information to provide context and clarify misinformation circulating in the industry.
A Message to Rita Daniels
Addressing Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, Rollas urged her to prioritize her daughter’s well-being over personal ambitions. “If your daughter’s home and health are in distress, AGN elections should not be your priority,” he stated.
Rollas warned that glamorizing harmful habits as a “celebrity lifestyle” could negatively influence younger actors.
Clarifying Funding Allegations
Rollas also dismissed claims that Senator Nwoko funded the AGN, clarifying that donations made were personal contributions to Daniels’ film projects, not the Guild. He emphasized that misinformation about the alleged ₦200 million funding has been a source of undue criticism for him.
Rollas Speaks Out to Clear His Name
The AGN president stressed that his statement was intended to protect the integrity of the Guild and address misconceptions.

“I am speaking now because my name is constantly dragged, and the silence of stakeholders is making matters worse. I owe myself, the Guild, and the public the dignity of speaking the truth,” he concluded.
