Afrobeats sensation Wizkid has given fans a glimpse into his wedding plans—and he has a very specific wish for the music.
During a recent chat on Apple Music radio with DJ Tunez, the Grammy-winning star revealed that he hopes singer Asake will perform at his special day.
Wizkid shared that Asake’s music has had a lasting impact on him, singling out the track Remember as his personal favourite. He described Asake as one of Africa’s most talented voices and praised his contribution to the continent’s music scene.
“Omo Ope made me a fan from the very first listen,” Wizkid said. “But if I’m picking one song to play at my wedding, it has to be Remember. That record is just amazing.”
He went on to celebrate Asake’s unique talent: “You [Asake] have one of the most special voices from Africa—and the world. I’ve told you this countless times, and I’m saying it again on the radio. You are truly a blessing to African music.”
Wizkid is currently in a relationship with Japa P, who is not only his partner but also his manager. The couple shares three children—two sons and a daughter—and fans have long speculated about when the star might finally tie the knot.
