VeryDarkMan Exposes Blord for Selling Refurbished iPhone XR as iPhone 17 Pro to Nigerians

Nigerian activist and social media personality, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has accused businessman and crypto investor Blord of attempting to deceive Nigerians by selling a refurbished iPhone XR disguised as the newly released iPhone 17 Pro.

The Alleged Scam

The controversy began when Blord shared a video on Instagram unboxing what he claimed was an “upgraded” iPhone XR, modified to resemble the iPhone 17 Pro.

According to Blord, he had collaborated with an associate in China to perform the modification, resulting in a device that featured similar icons, casing, and interface to the latest iPhone model.

Blord announced that he had two units available for sale, each priced at ₦400,000. He described the product as an “affordable alternative” for those wanting the premium look of Apple’s latest flagship without the high cost.

VeryDarkMan’s Response

In a video response, VeryDarkMan criticized Blord for allegedly inflating the price and misleading Nigerians. He revealed that the so-called “iPhone 17 Pro” was actually an upgraded iPhone XR, which could be purchased for around ₦280,000 in China, including shipping and delivery costs to Nigeria.

VDM expressed his concerns, stating, “Blord, I think you forgot that I am in China. Why do you want to extort Nigerians? All in the name of business, you want to make so much profit.”

Reaction

The video and accusations quickly went viral, prompting widespread discussions online.

While some praised Blord’s creativity in offering an affordable alternative, others warned against promoting counterfeit products.

One social media user commented, “This is how people will buy fake phones thinking they got a real iPhone 17.”

Another user added, “At least he’s honest about it. Some people will sell this thing as the real deal.”

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about counterfeit and refurbished tech products in Nigeria’s market. Consumers are advised to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of products before making purchases.
