The family of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, better known as Phyna, has been plunged into mourning after her sister, Ruth Otabor, died from injuries sustained in a crash involving a Dangote truck in Auchi, Edo State.

In a statement issued on Sunday through its official X handle, the Dangote Group confirmed Ruth’s passing while expressing its sorrow over the tragedy.

According to the statement, Ruth had been under intensive medical care, with the company covering all costs and even making arrangements for her transfer to India for advanced treatment before her death.

“Since the accident, our officials and insurance partners have been by her side, covering all financial and medical costs and supporting her family.
Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today,” the company wrote.

The statement emphasized that safety, accountability, and compassion remain the guiding principles of the Dangote Group.
