Nigeria’s Super Eagles have unveiled their starting XI for this evening’s crucial Group C showdown against Tanzania, with head coach sticking to a trusted 4-3-3 setup as the team targets maximum points.

The match gets underway at 6:30 p.m. WAT, and expectations are high for the Super Eagles to make a strong statement early in the group stage. Victor Osimhen leads the attack, carrying Nigeria’s goal threat as the focal point of the front line.

Stanley Nwabali continues between the posts, rewarded for his recent consistency and composure. In defence, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Zaidu Sanusi operate from the full-back positions, while Semi Ajayi partners Calvin Bassey at centre-back, forming a physically solid back four.

The midfield is built around Wilfred Ndidi, who takes up the holding role and is tasked with shielding the defence. He is supported by Alex Iwobi, providing creativity and ball progression, and Samuel Chukwueze, who is expected to push forward and link midfield play with attack.

In the final third, Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams occupy the wide attacking roles, offering pace, movement and flair, while Osimhen spearheads the line as Nigeria’s main goal scorer.

Tanzania, meanwhile, have also opted for a 4-3-3 formation, with veteran striker Mbwana Samatta leading their attack. Players such as Salum Msuva, Novatus Miroshi and Saimon Kapombe feature in their starting lineup as they aim to stay compact and take advantage of any defensive lapses from Nigeria.

Both teams boast strong options on the bench. Nigeria can turn to Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, Cyriel Dessers or Frank Onyeka if the game demands a change, while Tanzania have attacking reinforcements including Denis Kibu and Kelvin John ready to make an impact.
