A scenario from the Kaduna train attack.

Kaduna-train-attack

Imagine you’re a young mother. You left Kaduna a few days ago for a mission in Abuja. After completing the assignment, you called your husband and informed him you’d be back and that he should get you the nicest food from your favorite restaurant. You told him how much you had missed him. You also told him that you had purchased his favourite perfume for him. You also urged him to tell your small daughter that you had purchased a special gift from Abuja for her. And given that this was your first time going to Abuja, you told him that you had a lot of anecdotes about the nation’s capital. On your way to the train station, you stopped to buy apples and pineapples for your mother. You also purchased a new blouse for the almajiri, who conducts errands for you.

You left Idu station at 6 p.m. and are due to arrive in Kaduna’s Rigasa rail station by 8 p.m. On the train, you greeted the other passengers and shook their hands. You smiled at a very little girl, and she smiled back. The woman sitting next to you is an elderly woman in her late 60s. She looked like your mother. She struck up a discussion, and you soon felt at ease around her. You chatted about a variety of topics with her. You mentioned the month of Ramadan and how you want to spend it. You even informed her you were willing to fast for the entire month of Ramadan because your ulcer had recently become dormant. She complained that she couldn’t fast because she was on medication. She stated that she would fast after finishing her medicines.

Not more than 30 minutes into your travel, the old woman appeared to be someone you’d known for years. During the interesting chat, she fell asleep unexpectedly. You wanted to continue the talk, but it seemed impolite to wake her. You let her continue sleeping. You soon became exhausted from the work you completed in Abuja, and sleep took over. You suddenly awoke to the sounds of explosions and gunshots. In the blink of an eye, all of the unfortunate passengers had been rounded up by the terrorists. They abused you and forced you to trek tens of kilometers through the bush.

Days have turned into months, and you are still under the pharaonic care of these terrorists. When you look at that elderly woman, you feel terrible for her. Her health is failing rapidly since she does not receive the medications she requires three times a day. She frequently tells you in the middle of the night, “I’m going to die.” Consider mosquitoes, rain, starvation, beatings, and my declining health. “I don’t have energy.” But you encouraged her and told her to keep going, promising her that God would provide support. Your words seemed to lift her spirits. She said to you: “May Allah bless you. If not for you, life would have been impossible.” As soon as she closed her mouth, one of the terrorists told her, “If you don’t keep silent, I will beat you. I won’t mind that you’ve become older. You will cry, wallahi. Have you forgotten the beating you suffered this morning?

The old woman then murmured quietly, “Ya Allah ka saka mana. Judge between us and those who assumed duty for our protection and then ignored it, amin.” As if she had been placed on a speaker, all of the kidnapped captives said “amin.” The terrorists then swooped on them, beating them viciously and yelling, “We’ll murder you all, wallahi! People are terrible. “If they don’t bring the money, we’ll kill everyone.”

Your darling daughter has been waiting for you at home for almost a hundred days. All she could do was pray to Allah to save you. She regularly tells her father, “Baba, I don’t want the present. I simply want Mama to come back. “Please bring her back!” The father walks into his room and weeps since there is nothing he can do. He raises his hands in prayer, saying, “Truly, the most needy of mankind are those who are unable to seek Your help. We ask for Your assistance with these slaves. Rescue them, Ya Allah!

If this story moves you, pause for a moment and consider what the abducted victims are going through. Consider what their families are going through after watching the video. It is terrible, to say the least. May God rescue them! Their leadership has failed them!
