Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan's Suspension Sparks Allegations of Silencing

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has called for justice for Nigerians, particularly the poor, as the nation celebrates its 63rd Independence Anniversary.

In a statement released on Sunday, Natasha acknowledged the sacrifices of Nigeria’s past heroes and emphasized the need for justice to ensure active citizenship among the populace. She stated:

“Independence Day symbolizes the sacrifices of our heroes past and their unwavering determination for a better Nigeria. Today, we honour their memories and pay tribute to their selfless contributions. Indeed, their exemplary leadership has become a beacon of hope for us today.”

The senator highlighted the struggles faced by the poor, stating: “Without mincing words, our poor have sacrificed too much; they need justice more than anything to become active citizens.

Social justice, political justice, and economic justice, among others, are needed to keep Nigeria on the path of greatness.”

Natasha concluded her message by urging Nigerians to unite in anticipation of a better Nigeria where the rule of law prevails:

It’s time for us to build a Nigeria that thrives on unity, justice, and prosperity. May love and peace be with our beloved Nigeria always.”
