Temiloluwa Otedola, daughter of Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has officially dropped her father’s surname, opting instead to adopt her husband’s last name, Ajibade.
The actress and fashion influencer, who recently tied the knot with Nigerian singer and tech entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Ajibade—popularly known as Mr Eazi—confirmed the change across her social media platforms, where she now goes by “Temiloluwa Ajibade.”
Her decision has sparked widespread discussion online, with many fans and commentators debating the implications of her name change in light of her prominent family background.
Personal Choice Rooted in Commitment
In a recent interview, Temi described the change as a deeply personal decision.
According to her, taking on her husband’s surname felt natural and symbolic of her new chapter in life.
“For me, it wasn’t about making a statement—it was simply a reflection of love, commitment, and the unity marriage represents,” she explained. “Every woman should have the freedom to decide what feels right for her.”
Temi also addressed questions around why she kept the marriage relatively low-profile, stating that she wanted to take control of her narrative and share details only when she felt ready.
A Global Wedding Affair
The couple, who had been together for several years, reportedly held a series of intimate wedding ceremonies across three countries.
A civil ceremony was conducted in Monaco, followed by a traditional Yoruba wedding in Dubai, and a private church ceremony in Iceland.
