Priscilla Ojo Claps Back at Claims Juma Jux Bought AFRIMA 2026 Award

Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur Priscilla Ojo has fired back at critics following fresh allegations surrounding her husband, Tanzanian music star Juma Jux, after his recent win at the 2026 AFRIMA awards.

Juma Jux emerged winner of the Best Male Artiste in Eastern Africa category at the 9th edition of the African Music Awards (AFRIMA), which took place on Sunday, January 11, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. While the victory was celebrated by fans and colleagues, it also sparked controversy online.

Soon after the announcement, some social media users began circulating claims that the award was allegedly paid for. Unfazed, Priscilla took to her Snapchat page to celebrate her husband’s achievement, sharing a heartfelt message expressing pride and support.

“Congratulations, baby. So proud of you!!” she wrote.

However, the congratulatory post attracted a snide remark from a follower who insinuated that the couple bought the award. The critic commented in pidgin, suggesting the recognition was not earned.

Priscilla did not let the accusation slide. Responding calmly but firmly, she dismissed the claim and advised the commenter to abandon negativity, especially at the start of the year.

“Belle, it’s a new year, stop hating, girl,” she replied.

This is not the first time Juma Jux’s achievements have been questioned online. Following his previous win for Best East African Artiste at The Headies, a social media user had alleged that his marriage to Priscilla was a calculated move to boost his profile and secure awards in Nigeria.

At the time, Priscilla defended her husband, describing him as intelligent, dedicated, and deserving of his success.
