President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the killing of Somtochukwu Maduagwu in Abuja and directed security agencies to carry out a prompt and thorough investigation into the incident.
In an official statement from the Presidential Villa, President Tinubu described the killing as “tragic and unacceptable” and emphasized the importance of safeguarding the lives of all Nigerian citizens.
“The security of every Nigerian is non-negotiable. We will not tolerate any act of violence,” the President said. He urged law enforcement agencies to bring those responsible to justice swiftly and called on the public to maintain calm as investigations proceed.
The killing of Maduagwu has sparked widespread concern among civil society groups and the public, who have called on the government to ensure accountability and strengthen security in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
