“Tinubu is a man you can trust”-Agu,Former Amnesty Chief

The President of the Enugu Youth Movement and former Northern Director of Amnesty International, Chief Chris Agu, has praised Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing him as the last steadfast supporter of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

Speaking during a Thanksgiving event in Enugu, Agu stated that his group has held annual prayers in Tinubu’s honor for over a decade, recognizing him as a “gift to mankind and to Nigeria.” Agu, reflecting on his own experience in the AD when he ran for the Chairmanship of Kaduna North Local Government in 2004, noted that Tinubu was the only leader genuinely invested in the welfare of the party nationwide.

Agu explained that Tinubu’s support during his time in Kaduna inspired him to hold annual prayers for Tinubu’s protection and success, both spiritually and physically. This tradition has continued even after Agu relocated to Enugu, where prayers are held for Tinubu, particularly on his birthdays.

Agu praised Tinubu for his trustworthy nature, emphasizing that he always seeks to uplift others rather than exploit them. He also recalled Tinubu’s unwavering support for activists, especially during the NADECO era when many, including Tinubu, were hunted by the Abacha government, leading him to go into exile. Agu expressed gratitude for Tinubu’s leadership, especially in his role as the Chairman of President Buhari’s campaign, describing him as a man of good fortune.
