Peter Obi Blasts Government Over ₦7 Trillion Budget Scandal

The National Secretary of the Labour Party (LP), Umar Farouk Ibrahim, has announced that Peter Obi, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, will not be contesting the 2027 presidential election.

LP’s Position on 2027 Election

During an interview on Trust TV, Ibrahim stated that the LP has offered Obi the presidential ticket for the upcoming election, but he declined the offer.

He further questioned Obi’s political affiliation, highlighting his involvement with other parties such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and expressed uncertainty about where Obi intends to seek the presidential ticket.

Obi’s Political Trajectory

Obi’s political journey has seen him transition between multiple parties. After leaving the PDP, he joined the LP and became its presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
