Guardian Confesses to the Crime

Following her arrest, Fatimah admitted to using a razor blade to punish the boy, justifying her actions by accusing him of stealing ₦600.

“She confirmed inflicting the injuries with a razor blade, stating that she did it because Olasunkanmi stole six hundred naira to buy ice cream for his friends,” Odutola said.

Ongoing Investigation

The police have launched an investigation into the case to gather further details. “Investigation is currently in progress. More information will be disclosed as we proceed,” Odutola added.

Similar Incident Reported in Ogun State

The case follows another recent incident in Ogun State where a motorcyclist, Ahmed Owolabi, narrowly escaped death after his passenger, Sherif Oyeniyi, used a razor blade to inflict deep cuts on his neck while they were in motion in Arepo.

These back-to-back incidents have raised concerns about the increasing misuse of sharp objects to perpetrate violence in Ogun State, prompting calls for better awareness and stricter enforcement of laws against such acts.

The Ogun State Police Command has assured the public that justice will be served in both cases.
