The Nigerian military has achieved significant successes in its ongoing operations against terrorism, recording the neutralization of 88 terrorists and the arrest of 228 suspects in the northern regions of the country.
This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by Maj. Gen. Buba Edward, Director of Defence Media Operations, who highlighted the military’s intensified efforts to dismantle terror networks across the nation.
“Troops are on an onslaught to crush terrorists in the North West and other parts of the country,†Edward stated. “Operations are being modified to box in these terrorists while increasing operational intensity to ensure the destruction of all terror groups and the dismantling of their networks.â€
In addition to these successes, 40 individuals involved in oil theft were apprehended, and 181 kidnapped hostages were rescued during the week under review.
Significant South-South Achievements
In the South-South region, the military also made strides in combating oil theft, recovering stolen crude oil valued at over N1 billion.
These achievements reflect the ongoing commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to safeguard the nation and disrupt illegal activities that undermine national security and economic stability.
