Yoruba youth leaders have called for the urgent release of Afenifere National Youths Council President, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, who was kidnapped in Abuja on Monday, February 17, 2025.

The kidnappers have reportedly shot him, inflicting a bullet wound to his buttock, and are demanding a ₦100 million ransom for his release.

The Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders Worldwide, through its National Secretary, Akeem Adeleke, described the abduction as a serious threat to national security and regional stability.

The group has urged the Nigerian government and security agencies to take swift action to ensure Ojajuni’s safe return.

The Afenifere National Youths Council also confirmed the incident and called on the public to provide any useful information that could assist in his rescue.

They emphasized the increasing danger of kidnappings in Nigeria and the need for improved security measures to protect citizens, especially prominent leaders and activists.

With tensions rising, Yoruba leaders are warning that failure to act swiftly could further escalate insecurity and weaken public confidence in law enforcement.

They have vowed to continue mounting pressure until Ojajuni is freed unharmed.
