Nigerian music icon Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has unveiled the official tracklist for his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Morayo. The album, set for release on November 22, 2024, is deeply personal, paying tribute to his late mother, Morayo Balogun, who passed away in 2023.
Morayo serves as a follow-up to Wizkid’s 2022 project, More Love, Less Ego, and showcases the artist’s growth while embracing themes of love, loss, and artistic evolution.
The 16-track album features collaborations with an eclectic mix of global stars, including Asake, Brent Faiyaz, Tiakola, Anaïs, and Jazmine Sullivan. These partnerships bring a dynamic blend of Afrobeat, R&B, and international sounds to the project.
Ahead of the full album release, Wizkid has already dropped two well-received singles. “Piece of My Heart”, a soulful R&B duet featuring American singer Brent Faiyaz, captures the vulnerability of love, while “Kese (Dance)” delivers an infectious party vibe that has quickly gained traction among fans.
The complete tracklist was revealed on November 18, 2024, heightening anticipation for the album. With contributions from neo-Fuji sensation Asake, French rap artist Tiakola, and the evocative vocals of Jazmine Sullivan and Anaïs, Morayo promises to be a genre-spanning masterpiece.
Fans eagerly await the release, seeing it as another milestone in Wizkid’s illustrious career and a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of his late mother.
