Togo Officials to Officiate Ghana vs. Nigeria CHAN Qualifier in Accra

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Togolese officials to oversee the first leg of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying match between Ghana and Nigeria, scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

The Togolese officiating team will include Aklesso Gnama as the referee, assisted by Jonathan Ahonto Koffi (Assistant Referee 1), Wassiou Tchamolla Ourotou (Assistant Referee 2), and Kossi Fabrice Senyo as the fourth official. Ivan Gator Brown from Liberia will serve as the match commissioner, while Hugues Alain Adjovi from Benin will act as the referee assessor.

The second leg of the qualifier will be held at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, on Saturday, December 28. Moroccan officials, led by referee Hamza El Fariq, will oversee the return fixture. El Fariq will be supported by Abdessamad Abertoune (Assistant Referee 1), Zakaria Bouchtaoui (Assistant Referee 2), and Hicham Temsamani (fourth official). Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone will serve as the commissioner, with Miboti Moise from the Democratic Republic of Congo as the referee assessor.

The match in Accra is set to kick off at 4:00 PM Ghana time (5:00 PM in Nigeria), while the return leg in Uyo will start at 5:00 PM.

The aggregate winner of this fixture will qualify for the 8th African Nations Championship finals, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1 to February 28, 2025. The tournament will also serve as a preparatory event for the three nations as they gear up to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
