The list, which also includes Luga Cyprian Toryila (Benue State), Musa Saidu (Borno State), and Ifeoma Stella (Enugu State), was created by a female teacher from Lagos State named Blessing Lydia Titiloye and a teacher from Oyo State named Olanrewaju Olubunmi Olayemi.
The others are Zainab Gambo (Yobe State), Kabir Musa (Zamfara State), Alaku Ayiwulu (Plateau State), Adewale Kayode Abayomi (Ogun State), and Garba Abraham (Niger State).

Morgan added that an impartial team of judges assembled specifically for the purpose selected the finalists from a pool of 1, 027 submissions.
She said that all of the finalists would move on to the last round, where they would face one-on-one interviews to decide who should wear the Maltina Teacher Award this year and who the runners-up were.

She claimed that this Friday, at an award event in Lagos, they would all be disclosed.

The Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, the social arm of Nigerian Breweries, is home to the Maltina Teacher of the Year Award Competition, which serves as a venue for identifying and honoring outstanding secondary school teachers across the country, both in public and private institutions.

The eighth edition of the tournament this year has yielded seven overall champions, each of whom has received an N6 million cash award along with a host of other advantages.
