Tambuwal Launches Hajj Delegation for 2022

The inaugural State Hajj delegation of 17 men, headed by Speaker of the State House of Assembly (SOHA), Rt. Hon. Aminu Manya Achida, was launched by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state in 2022.

The event took place on Thursday at Government House, House, Sokoto’s Council Chamber.

In the same venue, the Governor also swore in the new Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission and his permanent commissioners; as well as a permanent member of the state House of Assembly Commission.

The new Chairman of the commission according to a statement signed by the special adviser on media and publicity to the governor, Muhammad Bello includes, Haliru A. Muhammad, while Abbas Gandi, Shehu Bawa Goronyo, Ahmad Abdullahi Tsoho Shuni and Abdul Razak Shehu were sworn-in as permanent commissioners.

Alhaji Attahiru Hussain took the oath of office as a member of the State Assembly Service Commission in a similar manner.

Governor Tambuwal announced during the delegation’s inauguration that the chairman and members had been carefully chosen. The team is intended to lead pilgrims from Sokoto to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and back.

He warned the pilgrims to follow the laws and policies of their new home, emphasizing the need to follow the ongoing protocols addressing the Covid-19 pandemic and other kingdom laws.

He expressed faith that the committee will successfully carry out its task and urged them to pray more fervently for the restoration of peace, progress, and unity in the nation’s problematic areas.

Regarding the recently appointed chairman of the state Civil Service Commission and his permanent commissioners, Governor Tambuwal expressed his confidence in their ability to lead effectively.

The state government already has a robust and dynamic bureaucracy that may be reinforced to comply with international best practices, he said, adding that the civil service is the cornerstone of government service delivery to the people of the state.

The governor called on the state’s Head of Service and civil servants to keep giving their all in the service of the state, praising them for their commitment and perseverance in carrying out their tasks.
Tambuwal added that managing the state civil service will be easier given the degree of commitment his administration has been making to ensuring timely and regular wage payments.
