The burial mass, held at St. Peter’s Claver Catholic Church in Otolo Nnewi, was officiated by the Bishop of Ekwulobia, Peter Cardinal Okpaleke. In his sermon, Cardinal Okpaleke described Ubah’s passing as a profound reminder of the importance of leading a life that positively impacts others and leaves a lasting legacy. He lauded Ubah’s philanthropic spirit and commitment to serving humanity, urging attendees to emulate the senator’s exemplary life.

“His death is a lesson to us all. We must strive to live lives that will make people remember us for good when we are no longer here. The late Ifeanyi Ubah lived a life full of legacy and philanthropic gestures. His death has touched everyone,” Okpaleke said.

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, expressed his deep sorrow, recalling his last conversation with the late senator. “I still remember when we met in May, and he shared his plans and ambitions. His passing was not part of the discussion,” Soludo lamented, describing Ubah’s sudden death as a shocking loss.

Senator Uche Ekwunife paid tribute to Ubah’s dedication to youth development and his unparalleled leadership qualities. “You were an avatar, a sports enthusiast, a rare gem committed to youth development. In you, we saw the true essence of leadership and kindness — not just in titles and positions, but in words and deeds,” she remarked.

A kinsman, Joe Ezeike, highlighted the void left in Nigeria’s political landscape by Ubah’s demise but expressed hope that his legacy of service and compassion would continue to inspire future generations.

The burial ceremony was marked by tears, prayers, and fond memories of a man whose life was defined by selfless service, philanthropy, and an enduring commitment to humanity.
