Providus Bank has announced the appointment of Mahmud Tukur to its Board of Directors, a move that reinforces the bank’s commitment to governance excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth. His appointment was ratified at the bank’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), recently held in Victoria Island, Lagos, according to a statement made available to FRONTPAGE on Monday.
A Seasoned Business Leader with a Track Record of Excellence
Tukur, the founder and group chief executive officer of Ashgrove Group, is a distinguished global business leader with three decades of experience spanning the energy, maritime, infrastructure, and technology sectors. His leadership acumen and extensive industry insights make him a valuable addition to the bank’s Board.
The executive management of Providus Bank expressed confidence in Tukur’s ability to contribute to the institution’s long-term success.

A Record-Breaking Career in Leadership and Governance
Tukur made history at age 37 when he became the youngest CEO of a publicly listed company in Nigeria, leading Eterna Plc, an indigenous downstream oil company listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
He holds a Joint Honours degree in Accounting & Management from the Business School of the University of Wales College, Cardiff. His professional affiliations include:
