Prominent figures, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice President Kashim Shettima, attended the Wedding Fatiha of Dr. Aishatu Kwankwaso, daughter of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, in Kano on Saturday. The ceremony marked a significant union between the family of the former Kano State governor and Fahad, son of Katsina business mogul, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal.
High-Profile Attendance
The event, held at the palace of the 16th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, drew a host of dignitaries. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and several former governors were in attendance. These included Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Adamu Aliero (Kebbi), Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), Mahamud Shinkafi (Zamfara), Isah Yuguda (Bauchi), Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom), and Achike Udenwa (Imo).
Also present were Senator Dino Melaye and Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, the former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha. The Chief Imam of Kano, Prof. Sani Zahraddeen, officiated the ceremony, during which N1 million was paid as dowry by the groom.

A notable highlight was the appearance of former President Obasanjo, who wore the red cap symbolizing the Kwankwasiyya political movement led by Senator Kwankwaso. His choice of attire was widely acknowledged as a nod to the movement and its leader.
