President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Wednesday for a three-day state visit to France at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron.
The visit will focus on strengthening bilateral relations in political, economic, and cultural spheres, with a particular emphasis on partnerships in agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, energy transition, and innovation. Tinubu and his wife, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, will be received by Macron and his spouse, Brigitte, at Les Invalides and the Palais de l’Élysée for initial ceremonies and bilateral discussions.
During the visit, both leaders will explore opportunities for youth skill development, entrepreneurship, and leadership. They will also participate in discussions on finance, solid minerals, trade, and investments, with a session involving the France-Nigeria Business Council.
The First Ladies of both nations will also meet to discuss shared initiatives, particularly Mrs. Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Initiative,” aimed at empowering women, children, and vulnerable populations.
The visit will culminate in a state dinner hosted by Macron before Tinubu’s return to Nigeria.
This marks President Tinubu’s 32nd international trip and fifth visit to France since assuming office, having visited 17 countries in 18 months, accumulating 278 flight hours.
