President Bola Tinubu, accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, arrived in Paris on Wednesday for a three-day state visit aimed at bolstering Nigeria-France relations. The presidential delegation landed at Orly Airport at approximately 5:10 p.m. local time, where they were received with full military honors by the French Republican Guard.
This visit, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, marks President Tinubu’s fifth trip to France since taking office 18 months ago. According to Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the discussions will focus on enhancing bilateral ties in key sectors, including agriculture, security, education, health, youth empowerment, innovation, and energy transition.
The agenda underscores both nations’ commitment to deepening political and economic cooperation. During their stay, President Tinubu and the First Lady are scheduled to visit the historic Les Invalides military museum. They will also meet with President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at the Élysée Palace, where they are expected to engage in discussions aimed at fostering mutual interests and strengthening the partnership between Nigeria and France.
