Osun Police Parade 20 Suspected Criminals, Including Armed Robbers and Fraudsters

The Osun State Police Command on Friday presented 20 individuals arrested for various crimes across the state, including three suspected highway armed robbers. The arrests stemmed from an intensified crackdown on criminal activities in the region.

Police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola revealed that the armed robbery suspects—Olajide Kareem (28), Mike Emmanuel (33), and Godwin Emmanuel (23)—were apprehended along the Osu/Ilesa road. The trio is accused of carrying out numerous robberies, targeting travelers and stealing valuables such as jewelry, phones, and cash.

Opalola detailed a particularly heinous incident where the suspects shot a bus driver in the leg and sexually assaulted a female passenger during one of their operations.

Among those paraded was Emmanuel Anthony, who allegedly used military uniforms to deceive and rob passengers along Ekiti road. In one case, Anthony reportedly coerced a victim from Esa Oke to transfer ₦3 million to his account and stole other valuables, including mobile phones valued at ₦1.25 million.

Additionally, seven other individuals were paraded for conspiracy, armed robbery, and possession of stolen vehicles. The police disclosed that efforts are underway to apprehend accomplices and dismantle the criminal networks threatening safety in the state.

The suspects are currently in custody, awaiting further investigation and prosecution.
