Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke paid a heartfelt condolence visit on Friday, November 8, 2024, to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, a distinguished native of Ilobu in Osun State, passed away on November 5 in Lagos. The governor, accompanied by the state Commissioner for Federal Affairs, Nike Adeleke, was received by the widow, Mariya Lagbaja, and senior officers of the Nigerian Army.

During the visit, Governor Adeleke signed the condolence register and paid glowing tributes to Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, describing him as an outstanding son of both Osun State and Nigeria. The governor extended his sympathies to the grieving family and pledged the state’s support for the upcoming burial arrangements, as well as continued assistance to the family in the future.

Gov. Adeleke had earlier expressed profound sorrow over the general’s passing, calling it a significant loss for Osun State and the nation.
