As political parties intensify their campaigns ahead of the November 16 Ondo governorship election, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has called on the Ebira community in Ondo State to rally behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Aiyedatiwa is among 16 candidates contesting the governorship seat.
During a meeting with the Ebira community in Owo Local Government Area on Saturday, Governor Ododo affirmed their unified support for Aiyedatiwa, emphasizing continuity in governance.
Speaking on behalf of the Ebira people, Ododo stated, “We, the entire Ebira community across Ondo State, have resolved to support and vote for the All Progressives Congress in the coming election. Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ebira community stands with you in solidarity because we believe in continuity. You have upheld the legacy of the late Governor Akeredolu and sustained the good work he started. You have been tested and trusted, and we are fully committed to ensuring your victory on November 16.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the Ebira community’s endorsement, acknowledging their commitment to the APC’s vision. He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his steadfast support of Ondo State’s development, saying, “President Tinubu has consistently demonstrated his commitment to our state’s progress, never wavering in his support. I also appreciate Governor Ododo for his exemplary leadership in Kogi State, embodying the strength of youth and the wisdom of elders.”
Dr. Olayide Adelami, APC’s deputy governorship candidate and Ondo’s Deputy Governor, praised Governor Ododo for mobilizing the Ebira people to back Aiyedatiwa. He pledged that the APC administration would continue to recognize and involve non-indigenes in key decision-making processes.
“Your dedication to ensuring the success of our party and candidate in Ondo State underscores your commitment to leadership and the welfare of your people. Our administration will uphold inclusivity and ensure that all communities feel represented,” Adelami assured.
The Ebira community’s declaration of support adds a significant boost to Aiyedatiwa’s campaign as the APC pushes for victory in the upcoming governorship election.
