Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, the Accord governorship candidate in Osun State, declared that, should he win the state’s July 16 governorship votes, he will use the natural resources of the state to generate 100,000 new employment in the first year of his administration.
In addition, Dr. Ogunbiyi stated on Tuesday that he will settle all unpaid gratuities owed to state pensioners within six months of his government taking office.
The Accord Party’s candidate for governor claimed to have demonstrated his abilities in the business sector by producing jobs there. He promised to emulate this success as governor of Osun State by generating jobs in the fields of agriculture, mining, the arts, sports, and entertainment.
According to Dr. Ogunbiyi, he will rally both domestic and international investors to work with his administration to launch successful businesses throughout the state.
“I am a giant myself in the corporate world,” he declared. We know how to generate employment. More than 5,000 individuals are employed by the businesses I founded. We are in Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, and Niger.
“I’m here to aid our state by offering my knowledge. We will present a budget of one trillion naira if we utilize the resources at our disposal and unlock the potential of this state.
“When we say Osun State has a lot of potential, there are a lot of opportunities out there, but to be able to identify them, we have to have a keen business sense, intelligence, and the ability to recognize potential in others.” The speaker went on. I’ve created what I believe is a manifesto. I doubt that in the previous fifteen years, Osun people have seen a manifesto. We have created a manifesto, which is my agreement to work with the Osun people. It outlines the areas we would address in our first term and what and what.
Consider sports. When was the last time Osogbo Stadium was in use? Tell me about one athlete, boxer, football player, or judo practitioner that came out of Osun State; they have completely destroyed those sports’ industries.
“All of that will change with us. In order to generate income for the populace, we shall revitalize sports in Osun State and expand the economy by taking use of the potential presented by Nollywood and entertainment in general.
Additionally, he reaffirmed his support for the complete autonomy of state local governments, stating that “councils’ elections would be conducted within six months of our government,” with elected administrators in control.
