Mr. Kehinde Aremu-Cole, Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) North-West Area Office, has advised corps members to avoid night travel during their service year. During his recent visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara State, he addressed the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 corps members, stressing the tragedy parents face when losing a child to preventable accidents during national service.
Aremu-Cole urged corps members to resist any pressure to travel at night and instead prioritize their safety. He also encouraged them to embrace their assigned postings with a positive outlook, highlighting that their national service is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their host communities, particularly through Community Development Service (CDS) projects.
Demonstrating his commitment to community progress, youth empowerment, and human capital development, Mr. Aremu-Cole extended an offer of assistance to the corps members in supporting national objectives.
State Coordinator Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa welcomed the director, commending him as a skilled orator and experienced administrator with a significant impact on youth mentorship. Before departing, Mr. Aremu-Cole conducted an inspection of camp facilities, underscoring his focus on corps members’ welfare and safety.
